News Letter -
Welcome to term one - 2012 Members are advised that term one was pinned on the club's notice board on Wednesday November 30th. Term one starts on Monday January 30th, 2012 and members are asked to register for lessons this year before the club closes on December 9th. Special notice is drawn to the fact that Term one only runs for 5 weeks, the reason for this is the club is starting this term late in January to co-incide with school holidays. The club welcomes back Frank James after his extended holiday in WA. Frank is taking two classes in Term One 11.30 to 1.30 on Mondays and Thursdays. The club also welcomes Dennis Noel who is a new trainer for 2012. Dennis has held a long association with the club as an active member and now he would like to give back some of the skills that he has learnt from the club, to other members. Thanks Dennis. Members will find the other established Trainers, Murray Fowke, Beryl Hellwig, Jennifer Apps, Elena Turner, Peter Campbell, Gavin Loy, Bob MacPherson, Nola Harvey and Christine Ryan are all offering classes in Term One. Members can down-load a full readout on their lessons from the club's website. The club's Christmas Party is confirmed for Friday December 16th at the Maclean Services Club at 11am for 11.30 start. Please come in the spirit of Christmas by dressing with a Christmas theme. This social side of the club, is a wonderful time to meet and greet other members who may not be in your lesson groups. Good prizes are on offer for the best Lady and Gent who can contribute a little bit of Christmas "fun" into our club's Christmas Party. I throw the challenge out to male members who can wear the brightest, happiest shirt. "Come on fellows, it's Christmas" !!! Bookings are now being taken at the reception desk for the Christmas Party, as numbers are required for catering purposes. A selected menu is available and members are asked to leave a $5.00 returnable deposit. The club's popular "Orientation Day" is on the calendar for the New Year and scheduled to take place early in January before the start of term one. The agenda for this day is to welcome new members and to bring current members together with the view of planning to meet members' needs. Information about our orientation day will be advertised in our local media and members will be notified by email. Members are advised that the club will be closed during the festive season from Friday December 9th until Monday January 30th 2012. President John Harvey and the committee wish you all a joyous Christmas, together with good health and much happiness for the New Year. The committee thanks members for their loyal support during 2011 and they look forward to that same support in 2012. Remember this is your club, and we can all feel very proud that our club has grown to provide this wonderful computer service for seniors in the Clarence valley. Have a great Christmas and keep those fingers working during the holidays. Bob MacPherson Computer programme co-ordinator
