Here is the latest news from our PR Officer:

Welcome to term 5 - 2010

Term 5 opens on Monday August 30 and members are advised that lesson register sheets went up on the notice board at the club, last Monday August 9. The formats for terms are six weeks in a full calendar year and each term is made up of seven weeks.

That means our club operates on a 42 working week cycle a year.
This make our club one of the strongest senior computer clubs around, and we give thanks to all members who have dedicated their free time in supporting our club.
One of the most disappointing acts to all leaders is when members register their names knowing they can only attend lessons for one or two weeks within the seven week term. This act stops other members from registering and is totally unfair when this practise happens. Therefore, please consider other members when you are registering for a full term.
Sometimes due to unforseen circumstances, members have a need to pull out during a term; this is totally different to knowing from the beginning that a member can't commit to a full seven week term. Remember your club was founded on the foundation of members helping members.

Your club is currently on the lookout to find more leaders, and hopefully they can be found amongst some of our more skilled members. To start this process, a number of Saturday workshops will take place, to encourage more members to help by becoming leader's assistance or full time leaders.
Therefore any members who would like to be involved can contact the secretary.

Membership fees become due at the end of June, and members had until the end of July to renew their membership. This means it is now essential for members to renew their membership before they can participate in any further lessons after July.

Please mark on your calendar that the club's AGM will be held at the Maclean Bowling Club on Friday September 17, 2010. More detail information will be posted after the August general meeting.
Term 5 has three vacant spots and hopefully these will be filled before the start of the term.
